Kenyan Children

Some women at Imani Workshops bring their children to work. Children playing quietly without supervision is common at Imani. As for the babies, most of the time they are placed behind a partition, and I usually forget that they are there until one of them cries. But today one of the babies was placed in full view near his mother, so I took the opportunity to take photos (with permission).

Sonet's mother, Stela, sits near him as she works. She's sewing beads around a bowl made out of papyrus.

Grace sits with her mother at lunch time. They're eating githeri, a staple of loose beans and maize mixed together.
